Scaling to the Next Level

Ice Fishing Sight Words

It’s always interesting to add a new twist to your average sight word game. Fishing sight words can be used to help students level up on their word building and learn about fish in the process. All you need to do is create your students’ fishing poles, prep your fish to the appropriate levels by color and create an “ice fishing” experience.

Here's what you'll need to get started:

  • Nylon string
  • Duct tape
  • Dowel rods
  • Color Paper or Colored Cardstock
  • Ring shaped magnets
  • Metal brads
  • Large square box
  • Feel free to get creative and make this activity your own to fit your class’s needs. Get the full details and the free editable fish template for this Sight Word Fishing Fun Activity.
