Mother's Day Queen Bee Project

With Mother’s Day ahead, everyone is trying to find a way to treat their mom like the queen she is! We’re sure that this simple writing activity will speak to her heart and have her buzzing all day about how special she feels.

Bee-utiful Words For Mom

Whether in the classroom or home this project can adds an extra bright spot to mom's day. Encourage youngsters to express all the reasons they love and appreciate their mom, grandmother, and other important moms. 

In the classroom there is always an opportunity to teach and learn! This activity can also be used to explain what a queen bee is and their role in a bee colony, or to discuss how honey is made. 

Here's what you'll need to get started:

  • Scissors
  • Astrobrights Color Paper or Cardstock
  • Poster Board
  • Black Pom Poms (Optional)
  • Free Downloadable Templates
  • Steps:

    1. Trace and cut out the crown, bee, and several flowers.

    2. Glue the bee on the crown, add black antennas and pom-poms (optional)

    3. Cut a strip of the poster board (about 4 inches wide) to make a headband

    4. Glue crown on the headband

    5. Decorate the headband with flowers for fun!

    6. Add pom-poms to the middle of the flower for extra cuteness!

    7. Staple the headband together to size
