Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite crafting holidays! I am not sure if it is because it is a happy holiday or because of all the fun pinks and purples! If you have been following me for a while you know I love paper flowers, pinwheels and creating 3D paper wall collages. This year I decided to combine paper flowers, pinwheels, conversation hearts and honeycombs to create a fun paper collage that can hang on the wall or fireplace as the perfect Valentine’s Day decorations!

For today’s project I am using a few different Astrobrights® paper and cardstock packs because I wanted a good variety of Valentine’s shades!

Materials:

  • Astrodesigns® Watercolor Cardstock
  • Astrobrights® Pastel Paper
  • Astrodesigns® White Cardstock
  • Astrobrights® Tropical Cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Pom Poms
  • Hot Glue
  • Tape Roller

5. Place glue dots at the 12, 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 position and place the next folded shape directly on top.

Valentine Honeycomb 4

6. Open that shape and place a glue dot at the 3 position and fold closed.

7. Continue steps 5-6 with all the shapes.

8. Once you are done carefully open to reveal the honeycomb shape!

9. Since we are only making a half circle, we need to hold it open. Glue 2 craft sticks to the back to hold it open.

If you wanted to complete a full circle you would need to cut about 30-35 of the shape.

Repeat the steps above to make multiples of each item. Once you have a good variety cut a piece of poster board or foam board to the desired length and width of your wall collage. Add holes to the corners if you plan to hang it with string or hooks.

Lay out all your collage pieces before you glue them to make sure you have enough, and you fill the entire board. Once ready glue in place!

This is a great project for Valentine’s Day but can be duplicated for any holiday or season!
