May the 4th be with you!

Today's a stellar day to rewatch your favorite Star Wars saga. Movie snacks are a must -- and for me, popcorn is always the chosen one.

Craft your crew these colorful paper popcorn boxes inspired by four of my family’s favorite characters: Grogu, Princess Leia, Ahsoka, and Darth Maul. Whether you're channeling the Light Side of the Force or feeling a little Sith, there's a box for you to make.

Just print my templates, cut, glue, and decorate. It’s a fun and simple May the 4th craft that will have your party guests singing yub nub!

How to make May the 4th popcorn boxes

All of the boxes begin the same way:

Step 1: Print my popcorn box pattern. Cut out the two pieces and tape them together.

Step 2: Tape the pattern onto a piece of Astrodesigns® 12" x 12" cardstock in your chosen color. The tape should just lightly hold the pattern to the paper so use it sparingly.

Step 3: Creasing the cardstock will make it easier to fold; this is called scoring paper. You can use a bone folder and ruler like I did or just grab a kitchen butter knife and a straight edge such as a book or cutting board. Run the bone folder or butter knife with firm pressure along the straight edge so it dents the cardstock paper below. Repeat for all the dotted lines on the pattern.

Step 4: Cut out the paper box with good paper scissors. Then remove the pattern.

 May-the-fourth-7

Step 5: Fold the box along the crease lines that you made in step 3.

Step 6: Add glue or tape on the tabs. Affix the two side bottom tabs first, then the middle bottom tab and long side tab.

Now you can decorate your popcorn box!

For the Grogu box:

Step 1: Follow the steps above to create a popcorn box using Astrodesigns® 12”x12” tan cardstock paper.

Step 2: Print and cut out the green ears, peach ear insides and green face pieces. Score the paper along the fold lines.

Step 3: Glue the green back to the back of the box, folding the edges onto the sides.

Step 4: Glue the green face to the front of the box, folding around the sides. All four sides of the box should be encased in green.
